Spring is Here!
The weather may not be indicating that it is springtime, but there are a few sure signs on the farm that spring has indeed come.
First, the Bainbridge Island Farmers Market is going strong. Come visit-- every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m near City Hall.
Fresh produce, delicious treats, and locally made crafts are all available. Butler Green Farms has plant starts for your garden in addition to our veggies.
Secondly, baby animals have come to the farm. We got new laying chicks this year; they already look like full-grown hens. They grow up so fast! Also, our ten pregnant ewes have given us an abundance of lambs that love to frolick in the field. They will soon join us on Valley Road. And we have new piglets, who love to play and eat.
Finally, there is an increasing variety of vegetables available-- including beautiful early head lettuce.
